use -s flag:
makepkg -s
-s, --syncdeps Install missing dependencies with pacman

Those packages are probably not present on your system so you need to instruct makepkg to install them.
lookup what --syncdeps & --rmdeps do in man makepkg .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
