[SOLVED] GDM failing starting i3

Hi,

I have trouble with GDM and i3.
After a recent update I am getting this error when I try to launch an i3 session (while if I use GNOME it doesn't happen):

Jun 21 21:10:45 nuc systemd[1]: Started GNOME Display Manager.
Jun 21 21:10:49 nuc gdm-password][1116]: pam_systemd_home(gdm-password:auth): systemd-homed is not available: Unit dbus-org.freedesktop.home1.service not found.
Jun 21 21:10:52 nuc gdm-password][1116]: gkr-pam: unable to locate daemon control file
Jun 21 21:10:52 nuc gdm-password][1116]: gkr-pam: stashed password to try later in open session
Jun 21 21:10:52 nuc gdm-password][1116]: pam_unix(gdm-password:session): session opened for user killkrt(uid=xxx) by (uid=xxx)
Jun 21 21:10:52 nuc gdm-password][1116]: pam_env(gdm-password:session): deprecated reading of user environment enabled
Jun 21 21:10:52 nuc gdm-password][1116]: gkr-pam: unlocked login keyring
Jun 21 21:10:54 nuc gdm[584]: Gdm: GdmDisplay: Session never registered, failing

I have already tried some hints from this thread, but they didn' t solve the issue.
Do you have any idea on how to solve the issue? Could it be a bug?

Thank you.

Have a look at the i3 wiki here

Re: [SOLVED] GDM failing starting i3

Thank you for the reply.

Actually the problem was in the .profile file that was containing a reference to a script that I have removed by mistake.
The strange thing that this was making i3 crash, while GNOME was not complaining at all...
