You're running dhcpcd and NM, pick one, disable the other. Probably irrelevant to the problem at hand, but a constant source of trouble.

Yes, I use flatpak

good luck getting nvidia hardware decoding to work in the flatpak. You may be able to do something by copying files around and changing some flatpak settings, but I have no idea.

I have no idea why flatpak would mess it up, but I can afford to install firefox on pacman I guess.

The mpv vaapi command also didn't work, what's up with that?
Offline
For flatpak you need all libraries inside flatpak including nvidia graphics driver and vaapi-nvidia.The vaapi driver is not available for now, it might be possible to kludge something together.
The readme for vaapi-nvidia-driver mentioned that the released mpv cannot use it. I missed that last time and I have no idea why there are problems.

Yeah alright I'll just do pacman firefox.
mpv release can't use vaapi

OK update on pacman firefox browser:
- Twitch stream plays properly but doesn't appear in nvidia-smi
- nvidia-settings still segfaults
- DE animations + transparent background still doesn't work

These things are unrelated.
For the desktop, check the kwin settings, the compositor might just be disabled,
qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation
Shit why can't this just work lmao
You can just use vdpau/gpu. Ftr, vaapi works for me on libva-vdpau-driver-chromium
Online
Also, my firefox font is fucked in some places (for example code blocks on here and github).
It does say compositing is disabled. How do I enable it? (I suppose that's what I need to do)
And what about nvidia-settings segfault? I don't want to leave this fucked up

I'm on Deepin, not Plasma.
Also I can't find it even with the search bar.
replace images with links
OK, will do next time

No, you will edit your post and do it now. The rule doesn't start "next time".
I've no idea where, how and why deepin configures kwin. You can try "kcmshell kcm_kwin_effects"
Online
OK it's apparently called 'Window effects', under personalization tab. (Or at least I think it is the compositor thing)
Can't turn it on though.

Can't "how"?
If the GL backend crashes, that's likely for the same reason as nvidia-settings
LC_ALL=C pacman -Qkk | grep -v ', 0 altered files'

Well I can't like, I try to, my window borders turn white with some visual bugs along the way. Then on restart it acts like nothing happens.
I also tried turning it on in the config file (~/.config/kwinrc), it also resets on restart.
For the command, I ran it with sudo since it gave a lot of permission denied-s:

There's no package corruption (though a notable absence of expected deviations in the kernel package/s)
Afaiu things broke when you installed nvidia-vaapi-driver?
So I'd reverse that and roll w/ one of the libva-vdpau-driver packages.
Online
Absence of what deviations exactly?
I'm not sure when they broke.
Is this the correct package: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … au-driver/?
Offline
The alternative would be https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libv … r-chromium
But looking at https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver I've a feeling that
echo $EGL_PLATFORM
will explain the situation…
