Hi, I'm trying to install Minecraft 1.8.9, I downloaded the aur package "minecraft-launcher" and I was able to successfully run the newest version of the game. (1.19) When I tried to run version 1.8.9, it would completely freeze my pc and desktop environment (KDE). Some things I tried were: Changing java version to jde8-openjdk, running just the minecraft installation through that, changing the java version on the computer to that. I am using Nvidia proprietary drivers for my RTX 2060. I am not trying to run any mods on the game either, at this point.
I read some other posts from people with similar issues, and some things I thought would be useful for this would be the Xorg log. Right after the computer froze and I forcefully powered off the computer, these were the logs marked as warnings or errors.

Apparently, there are some problems with your system font.
'fonts.dir' not found (or not valid) in "/usr/share/fonts/TTF".
Additionally, ACPI is not found:
Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory)
It seems like there are some modules which can't load, too - such as "nouveau", "nv", "fbdev" and "vesa". Try installing them first.
I'd suggest you try PolyMC or MultiMC, which are open-source launchers with more customization - you can also change the Java version used for launching Minecraft in those launchers.
And yes, it should be Java 8 for older versions of Minecraft (such as 1.8.9).
Of course, check if you have everything up-to-date, including the correct NVIDIA drivers.
