[SOLVED]Xorg crashed if I ran Pale Moon in dwm

Hello everyone,

Xorg crashed if I ran Pale Moon in dwm, which started per startx.
I have reported this issue in Pale Moon forum, so far no one has figured
out how to solve this issue, and advise me to turn to arch community to seek help.
Thanks a lot.

Re: [SOLVED]Xorg crashed if I ran Pale Moon in dwm

What is in your kernel / xorg logs after the crash?

I ended up switching from Xorg/fluxbox to Wayland/sway over such issues.

Xorg crashes sometimes and then it takes everything along with it. Sway has not crashed on me yet, not even once.

So the only downside is getting used to the new environment...

There is a dwm clone for wayland called dwl, maybe worth a look if you want to keep a dwm-alike experience.

Sure it's not been the session keeping process (fluxbox) that crashed, terminated xinit, terminated Xorg and then of course all X11 clients handle that less than gracefully?

Edit: on topic, @OP, please post an entire Xorg log of a crashing X11 server.
And because of

[ 140.237] Failed to compile FS: 0:1(10): error: GLSL 1.30 is not supported. Supported versions are: 1.10, 1.20, and 1.00 ES

also "glxinfo -B"

to note, with mesa-21.3.x the old i965 driver, no such issue.
