Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

What is the wifi adapters entry from lsusb?  Does it appear in the output of `ip a`?  What commands did you perform to connect using the wireless adapter?  What were the outputs of those commands?

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

I am using tb-link wifi adaptor and the modal is TL-WIN823N and I tried connecting to the network though iwd and it said operation failed.
commands:

$ iwctl
NetworkConfigurationEnabled: disabled
StateDirectory: /var/lib/iwd
Version: 1.28
[iwd]# station wlan0 connect wifi

Output:

Type the network passphrase for wifi psk.
Passphrase: **********
Operation failed

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

Choose one from NetworkManager and iwd to manage the interface and stop the other one then try connecting again and see if the result is the same.

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

Both of them are not working. First I used network manager and then iwd but both of them did not work and I disable one of them to try another.

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

#5 shows both enabled at the same time.
Also please post the actual lsusb output - " tb-link wifi adaptor and the modal is TL-WIN823N" is probably a "TP-Link TL-WN823N" and even that is a meaningless brand - there're at least thre iterations of that model, all w/ different chips.
And post a full system journal,

sudo journalctl -b > /tmp/journal.txt # upload that file somewhere, somehow

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

I highlighted from the log the wireless NIC is a RTL8192EU rev B using the kernel module rtl8xxxu.  There are two network services competing for control the of the interface NetworkManager and iwd.  I am assuming NetworkManager starts wpa_supplicant otherwise it is three services competing with each other.  This prevents any one service from completing a connection.

Re: [SOLVED]My wifi adapter not working

From the last journal you posted

Jun 25 16:45:37 gaurav-desktop kernel: usb 2-3: rtl8xxxu: Loading firmware rtlwifi/rtl8192eu_nic.bin

If you blacklist rtl8xxxu does the kernel then use the rtl8192eu module?

I think no because I even don't get the wifi list and it says there is no wifi adapter connected. I have updated the journal again if there is anything you need to see can go to the repo in github.

Ah, sorry - I missed that you updated "old" repo containing your journal.

Jun 27 22:34:00 gaurav-desktop kernel: wlp0s29f7u3: authentication with 5a:5e:ea:fc:b4:00 timed out

The auth request simply times out w/o repsonse from the AP.
1. disable windows fast start!
2. disable windows fast start!
3. disable windows fast start!
4. might be a MAC filter in the AP?
5. some APs don't like https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … domization - so disable that
