Home folder encryption with fscrypt *First post!*

I guess I tried to encrypt a few times and then I was afraid to break something because the commands I was inputting were giving errors. If you try to search for how to do this there are not many new blog posts or such about this, and for a few years it seems. Ok so would anyone like to elaborate about what is the correct way to do this right now.

Anyone wanna tell something?

Could you share the commands you were running and the errors you mentioned?

Have you checked the archwiki? https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fscrypt

I found an old article that was somewhat helpful but then at this it stops and I realize this was out of date anyway
ecryptfs-migrate-home -u username

Re: Home folder encryption with fscrypt *First post!*

The article you linked to uses ECryptfs which is not the same as Fscrypt.
Without the exact commands you used (check your shells history) and preferably with the error messages produced it is not possible to know what went wrong.
Systemd-homed also supports fscrypt.
Once you have picked a solution and followed the relevant wiki page.  If you encounter difficulties please provide the commands and their outputs.

I am afraid to run any commands to encrypt

edit:
Encryption is not needed anymore so I guess i will not continue this.
