Pressing super key in kde plasma doesn't open the application menu

When I am in my desktop using applications like libreoffice,gimp,geany etc etc. Pressing super key brings up the application menu instantly but when I play games, pressing super key doesn't bring my application menu. I can't even go to my desktop to create a new workspace. (CTRL+F8 didn't work) .  Is there a way to fix it ?

right click on the menu, and go to configure application menu >> next go to keyboard shortcut >> set the shortcut to ALT + F1 and try pressing meta / super should work
