Hi all.
I have read the following on the arch wiki
"It is not yet (September 2014) possible to initialize a QMI modem for use on Linux"
But 2014 is ages ago... how is the situation now? Do I need to have a spare version of Windows on a hard drive, if I want to initialise a new sim card? Any other tricks?
Cheers.

I haven't used a mobile broadband modem in years, but when I did modemmanager was the tool to use.
The current version does depend on libqmi , which appears to be a helper library for modems using the qmi protocol .
I suggest you read https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mobile_broadband_modem thoroughly and try some of the things on it.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Thanks, appreciate the answer.
I will try and work using that link, but if anyone knows IF it is possible in the first place, I would appreciate if you could say so. Even if not known, how it is done.
Anyway. It will be some time, till I will get to try it, but if I should figure it out, I will try and write it in this post.
Cheers and laters.
