Timeshift segmentation fault

Just installed timeshift from the official repository and I get this segmentation fault whenever I try to launch it. Launching from the desktop entry doesn't work either.
The errors I get:

$ sudo timeshift-gtk

[Warning] Deleted invalid lock

** (timeshift-gtk:13676): CRITICAL **: 15:13:58.042: string_strip: assertion 'self != NULL' failed

(timeshift-gtk:13676): GLib-CRITICAL **: 15:13:58.042: g_str_has_prefix: assertion 'str != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
$ sudo timeshift-launcher

[Warning] Deleted invalid lock

** (timeshift-gtk:15353): CRITICAL **: 15:15:28.273: string_strip: assertion 'self != NULL' failed

(timeshift-gtk:15353): GLib-CRITICAL **: 15:15:28.273: g_str_has_prefix: assertion 'str != NULL' failed
/usr/bin/timeshift-launcher: line 30: 15353 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) ${app_command}

Let me know if there's any other info I can provide.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

How did you install the timeshift? I propose to rebuild it https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/timeshift

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

Timeshift is not in the official repos, it's in the AUR. Either way, it's working fine for me.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

Well, you're obviously either not using Arch or using third-party repos. Neither of which is supported.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

I also have timeshift working properly

sudo timeshift-gtk
Application configuration loaded: /etc/timeshift/timeshift.json
Mounted '/dev/sda4' at '/run/timeshift/8857/backup'
Application configuration saved: /etc/timeshift/timeshift.json

Found stale mount for device '/dev/sda4' at path '/run/timeshift/8857/backup'
Unmounted successfully

I'm using pure Arch and built Timeshift from the AUR.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

Are you sure? Neither timeshift nor mesa-tkg-git/ lib32-mesa-tkg-git are in the official repos.

Either way, if no one else can reproduce your issue with Timeshift then it's a local issue on your system. There's not much to go on to help you out here.

That's a whole other thing, I don't know why you're digging through my post history when I stated I built it from the AUR again and again

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

If you say one thing, get caught then deny it "again and again", does that make it true?

FYI, I'm the maintainer of Timeshift. If you're going to act this way, no one is going to want to help you. Later.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

Your problem is that your system is in a random frankenstein state because you are mixing repo libraries with third party repo stuff that might not have been properly rebuilt. What actual distribution are you running? And if it should actually be Arch, drop the chaotic-aur repo or the AHP repo and reinstall all libs from either of those from the standard repository.

Re: Timeshift segmentation fault

If the issue still remains after following V1del's advise please a backtrace with debug symbols.
