Best fbsplash themes?

Hello guys,

There are not many great fbsplash/gensplash theme sites around so please post your links here.  I may even make a site for submissions if someone want to help me admin it!

Re: Best fbsplash themes?

I know this is kind of a old and dead topic dtw, But if you are still willing, I am also willing to help with anything needed. I have been playing around with creating my own splash images, so I may post some screenshots soon smile

I use/like darch and never really have looked around for other themes, but would definitely like to see what's out there.

Re: Best fbsplash themes?

Are fbsplash/gensplash themes compatible with usplash/splashy?
Because IIRC there were plans to adopt usplash/splashy in future and drop fbsplash/gensplash. Am I right?

Re: Best fbsplash themes?

Well, seeing as gensplash is not officially supported I can't see how it can be "dropped".  gensplash patches are in -beyond, and could be removed at some point though.  But seeing as -beyond is not the official Arch kernel it can't be dropped either...so, no, you're wrong.

Aside from that gensplash should now work without the kernel patches for silent boot anyway, in the same way as usplash and splashy - anybody care to test that?

Don't hold your breath for usplash or splashy - if you want to see them ported you better start working, it's obviously a low priority for those who mentioned working on it.

And, yes, I am grumpy about this subject because most people are clueless and presumptious about the whole affair, which annoys me a great deal.

Nah still cannot get it to work with the standard kernel, specifying a vga mode just brings up the kernel arch logo, that would need to be dropped before bootsplash will play nicely

Re: Best fbsplash themes?

I use this, it's a modded ArchPool theme.
-Makes the background image more usable by darkening it.
-Added text to splash
-removed second arch logo on splash to make it look tidier.

As for usplash, I almost had it working not long ago, though I havnt had the time to fix it up.

Suspend2 also can use the fbsplash support... or it too is not needed any more?
