Gnucash 4.11-1 not supporting database backends

While it has been working for me at least with version 4.9-1, gnucash does neither offer to save new books or open existing books with any SQL-backend.

When starting gnucash with the --debug option, I spotted this in the tracefile:

INFO <gnc.backend.dbi> [gnc_module_init_backend_dbi] GNC_DBD_DIR not set: using libdbi built-in default

Of course, libdbi 0.9.0-5 is installed.

I'd be happy for any suggestions! Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Gnucash 4.11-1 not supporting database backends

To get it to work I needed both libdbi-drivers and mariadb-libs. That got my mariadb working just fine.

Re: Gnucash 4.11-1 not supporting database backends

Next time try looking at optional dependencies.

The optdeps of gnucash don't matter here, but those of libdbi-drivers do .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
