I like it. The 'A' could be a little more pronounced as I imagine some people won't know what it is, but I think it looks cool!

Maybe this will catch on as a trend, and it will end up that there will be a Matrix rain image for all the Linux distro logos!

It's not meant to be and advert and I don't like when brands are pushed into your face (usually I try to make them less obvious from near and only reveal them when you step back some meters)

There're a couple, https://www.google.com/search?q=linux+matrix+wallpaper
But the structure of the arc lends itself to this because the overall shape isn't very complex/detailed and somewhat follows the flow of the rain - most other logos won't look as good if you break them into columns.
