Guys,
I've been trying to setup XGL and Beryl on Arch64, and my system is AMD64 X2 3600+ with ATI X1300Pro. I think i got them installed but they are not behaving the way i want them to? for instance, if i start beryl as WM, all open window will lose toolbar and i cant minimize, maximize etc etc. there are also no wobbly wobbly thing, only KDE lagging. i also cant seem to change the theme of KDE using Emerald theme manager, nothing happened when i click on the themes. i refered to the wiki and here's what i did:
Installed these packages from AUR:
fixesproto glproto-git pkg-config glitz-cvs imake mesa-xgl-cvs xgl-git cairo-git beryl-core-svn beryl-settings beryl-plugins-svn beryl-manager-svn emerald-svn
inserted below code into /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
[X-*-Core] : : ServerCmd=/usr/bin/Xgl :0 -fullscreen -ac -accel xv:pbuffer -accel glx:pbuffer : : #Xgl extra lines OpenRepeat=5 OpenDelay=15 OpenTimeout=2000 ServerTimeout=60
and placed this code in ~.kde/Autostart/startup
beryl-start beryl-manager &
so, did i miss anything? or am i just stupid?
Thanks all.

I had the same problem. What i made was change the line "DefaultColorDepth 16" to "DefaultColorDepth 24" in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf
emerald don't support 16 bits, only 24 bits or higher.
