[SOLVED] GDM bluetooth keyboard connected but no input

When I try to use my bluetooth keyboard on the gdm login screen, then I see the bluetooth symbol appearing in the top bar. But unfortunately there's no input from the keyboard.
And also after logging in the keyboard shows up as connected in gnome settings, but still no input. However it works if connected after logging in.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot
2. Press keys on bluetooth keyboard so I connects while still on gdm screen
3. Even after login no input in gnome nor libinput debug-events

Workaround
1. Boot
2. Turn on bluetooth keyboard only after login from gdm
3. Now input works in gnome and libinput debug-events

Why does gdm "steal" the input?
I don't see any errors in the journalctl of gdm or bluetoothd.

Re: [SOLVED] GDM bluetooth keyboard connected but no input

I was still annoyed by the issue... So today I again played around with stuff from the Wiki's troubleshooting section.

Don't know why, but this seems to fix it:

usb_modeswitch -R -v vendor_ID -p product_ID
