Missing Fonts and Icons When Installing A WM

I don't entirely know why it seems whenever I am installing packages, but I feel like I'm missing packages. When installing I3 and QTile, i was missing fonts to the point I couldn't see anything. All I got were some boxes. Whenever I install xorg (the entire thing), I seem to never get xorg-xinit (which you would think would be included, but it doesn't install for me like that). I'm just trying to figure out what fonts I am missing for I3 at this point, because I feel like I am missing important things that would make it actually work properly. I3 was installed on a fresh install. Same thing when I tried to install QTile.

Why do you think it should be automatically installed? It's only required if you want to use it, if you are instead using a DM to start your session then it isn't needed - hence the choice is left up to the user whether to install it or not..

It's up to you to decide which fonts you want to install - one of the packages from the following list is usually a good starting point...

I thought it would be installed because when i install all of xorg, i would think that would be included. but that is my bad.

Thanks for the information. After following a video that followed with a clean install of arch, I was able to get i3 up and running.

*ALL* likeshareandsubscribe "Today, I want to show you how to install the archlinux lol" tutorials, video or blog, are rubbish.
They're dated at best, systematically sparse and hilariously wrong for the most part and lead to situations like this: you, left with a disfunctional system and no idea why that is.
