Hello there, I am not an expert for audio or linux in general, but which audio server are you using(pulseaudio or pipewire)?

I use pipewire, however wireplumber got installed when arch devs pushed it into one of the updates. The arch "latest news" said to pacman -Syu pipewire-media-session. When I do that, I get conflict errors.

I think there is no easy fix for this.

wireplumber is the correct setup for pipewire. What are you actually using for testing whether you have audio? Post
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks
pactl list sink-inputsduring a "no audio" playback attempt.

[Solved] - Turn out that the problem was a permissions issue. I had changed permissions to a directory in / and it caused the sound to not start up when booting.
