Forgot to run lilo after kernel upgrade!

Hi All

I forgot to run lilo after a kernel upgrade and I am having some trouble.  I have my own note from the devfs days and roughly know what to do ie. boot from CD and use chroot.  The problem that I have is that I can't get the disk devices to show up in /dev after chroot.  I used to mount them in the devfs days with:

mount -t devfs none /mnt/dev

before is ran

chroot /mnt

What do I do to get /mnt/dev populated with required devices?
