I updated the whole system yesterday. When I tried to boot, the computer hangs on the "Udev uevents" line, staying 'busy' for ridiculous amounts of time. I end it with Ctrl+C and it says 'fail' along with a few other lines later. It moved too fast for me to see what they were. When it booted, the hostname was set to (none) and when I tried to startx it complained about some .Xauthority file.
I'm not really sure what "uevents" are. .Xauthority reads like gibberish, and I'm not sure what it is either. Booting with the fallback.img works fine.
What to do?

then set the fallback.img as default.
The fallback.img is there for situations in which the normal img doesn't work

I had done so already, but the new kernel corrects an earlier problem which lengthened the startup time considerably, so I was kinda hoping for the new kernel to work. Ah well, I'll wait for the next one.
