[Solved] What is the default install file name of a PKGBUILD?

What is the default install file name of a PKGBUILD?  Do we have to specify the install file name by

install=${pkgname}.install

every time?

There is no default name for .install files .
When lots of packages did have .install files, the convention was to prepend $pkgname to .install and use that as name.

Check https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#install and especially the colored "tip"-box.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)
