Chromium in Pacman Repo "Browser is Managed"

I like Chrome's security model more than Firefox's.  I respect Mozilla, but I prefer Chrome and its children for now.  However, I do not want Chrome's tracking.  For these reasons, I use Chromium.

To reproduce:
$sudo pacman -S chromium
$chromium
Then browse to: chrome://management/

Output:
"Your browser is managed"
"Your administrator can change your browser setup remotely. Activity on this device may also be managed outside of Chromium."

That sounds pretty fucked up to me.  Is this the same for everyone else?  Why is it like this?  And more importantly, how can I verify that I am either compromised, or that things are provably secure and as-they-should-be?

That sounds pretty fucked up to me.

Maybe, but what it actually means is that you're using pacman to install and update the browser - this is perfectly normal for all linux distributions and the preferred way to handle things.

(On OtherOS™, there's no package manager and chromium needs to maintain/update itself)
