Whenever I attempt to load Blender, it gives me this message:

What should I do here?
Stop doing partial upgrades.

Okay new development. I managed to update clang by removing another program I wasn't using. Here's what I now get.
blender: /usr/lib/libtiff.so.5: no version information available (required by blender)
Read prefs: /home/wayne/.config/blender/3.2/config/userpref.blend
libGL error: MESA-LOADER: failed to open radeonsi: libLLVM-13.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (search paths /usr/lib/dri, suffix _dri)
libGL error: failed to load driver: radeonsi
libGL error: MESA-LOADER: failed to open radeonsi: libLLVM-13.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (search paths /usr/lib/dri, suffix _dri)
libGL error: failed to load driver: radeonsi
libGL error: MESA-LOADER: failed to open swrast: libLLVM-13.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (search paths /usr/lib/dri, suffix _dri)
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
Error! Unsupported graphics card or driver.
A graphics card and driver with support for OpenGL 3.3 or higher is required.
The program will now close.Offline
Because you're still doing partial updates.

Stop doing partial upgrades.
And I've resolved it by using the "downgrade" command on mesa, which begs the question: Why would my software be doing partial updates in the first place? Is there a command that I put in that I wasn't supposed to?

The great thing about Arch is that your software doesn't do anything you didn't explicitly ask it to...

… which begs the question: what “downgrade command” exactly? Not only pacman doesn’t have one, but downgrading a package would lead to a partial upgrade, not resolve it.
Just run:
sudo pacman -SyuLast edited by mpan (2022-08-15 05:44:15)

Just run:
sudo pacman -Syu
The downgrade package is one I downloaded from AUR to roll back updates that were breaking software that I was using. I've run that command before, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to really do anything with my apps. This isn't with just Blender, either; it's affected apps like Discord as well.

Then you're either ignoring packages or have replaced system packages with 3rd party ones. In other words, partial updates.

Got it. So what do I do at this point to resolve this? I checked the pacman.conf file and none of my apps are in IgnorePkg. And -Syu doesn't seem to help either.

What errors are you seeing right now exactly?
It doesn't really show me an error; it just acts as though it's up to date, even though it likely isn't.

If you have no errors, you have no problems, then? What are we even doing?

We're trying to figure out how I can make it so that I don't have to use the "downgrade" command to update my apps.

So you have your entire system locked to the 1st of July. Why?

That is precisely my point. It doesn't make sense. I should not have to use a command that reads "downgrade" to UPDATE my apps. I should just be able to use pacman -Syu and everything should be okay. But unfortunately, I've done a partial upgrade on a few apps which seems to have messed up the whole update process.

I'm fairly new to using Arch. I do not know why it's locked to the 1st of July.

I guess I did at some point. In any case, looks like that was the culprit. Live and learn, I suppose. Thanks for the help.
