Laptop screen not recognized if I boot the machine with the lid closed

Hello everyone

I have a Dell Precision 5520, i7-7820HQ, Quadro M1200 running Arch + Gnome + Wayland.
I normally work with a second 4k monitor and if I boot the machine with the lid closed, the screen in the laptop is not recognized.

In order to bring it back to life, I just reset the machine with the lid open and everything is nice and dandy.
I installed the proprietary Nvidia driver (suggested as the best option for her GPU in the wiki) and disabled the gdm udev rules to enable Wayland.

I tried changing the settings in logind.conf in order to change the behavior of the lid, but I think that gnome is probably overwriting the behaviors set in the file (my guess and also, I understand that it would be the expected behavior)
I tried running with X11, but with the lid closed, GDM simply refuses to load.

Appreciate any suggestions!
