November 2006 Screenshots

Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png

Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies.  You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:

thumb-screenie.png

· If you do not have your own upload space you can upload to http://art.archlinux.org and link your shot here (with text) for discussion

· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these  ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:

2005053109197fv.th.png

You should use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post here smile

· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.

· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.
· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.

New WM! Finally.  8) I think I'll be using this one for a while.

TWM was great, but I was starting to miss virtual desktops. Now I've switched to vtwm, which is very similar but with a few nice features. #1 is the addition of a virtual desktop. The cool thing about it is that rather than having a number of screens, it uses one big screen which you can scroll around in. Mousing to the edge of the screen will move a quarter of the screen to the side. You can see vtwm's version of a pager down in the lower right.

That's probably the nicest looking Windows desktop that I've ever seen. However, at the end of the day - It's still Windows tongue

I'm not quite sure if answering your question is that simple but:
http://paste.uni.cc/11280
Just put this into the root menu by default declared in ~/config/openbox/menu.xml.

Sorry for the pastebin reference but there seems to be a but in the text parsing. Try to write `label text="bla"` (but with <and> instead of `) and you'll see of what I'm talking of. :

No it's not that big_smile

I meant this "menu" button IN Firefox. What extension is doing this?

(I'm new to FF, always used Opera)

It's "small menu extension" or something like that, I am at school or I'd tell you for sure. I use it also, it's not a button though, it just puts all the menu's into 1. You can find it in the extension page in "menus"

Which WM is that? I'd love to test it by myself!

Nice shot, by the way wether I dont like Michael Mittermaier. Especially if I cannot watch The Simpsons because of a crappy holyday. ):
