Over the past month or so, my calibre installation has lost the ability to do almost anything -- basically, if it requires clicking a (Qt) button, calibre will segfault.
1. Open Calibre
2. Search an Author ("Dan Brown")
3. Highlight the book you'd like to delete
4. Hit delete, and the popup asks for confirmation.
5. Hit OK (or was it Yes?) --> SEGFAULT
dmesg shows the following error:
FontScanner[1539663]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f4ca88cb6cd sp 00007ffe7d3487e0 error 4 in libQt6XcbQpa.so.6.3.1[7f4ca8887000+5a000]
I'm guessing it's something around xcb, Qt and fonts, but that's about as far as I've gotten.
So far, I've reinstalled calibre, wiped out my .config/calibre folder, my .cache/calibre folder and even my calibre database (renamed, but I can rebuild no problem). Even with these changes, calibre starts directly into the "new install" wizard, but the same error comes up as soon as I click "Finish" in the wizard.
I also tried reinstalling all of the qt6 dependencies, and re-ran fc-cache, in case of a strange font situation. Still no luck. Looking for any advice on how to get calibre back up & running? Or, how about ANY alternative that lets me manage eBooks and put them on my kindles over USB pretty well. THANKS!
