Downloaded the latest nvidia drivers, removed Nouveau, now trying to log in to a wayland session kicks me back out into sddm screen to try again. (currently I am using X11 to get by)
Why is this happening? And how can I fix it?

You need to enable KMS in the nvidia driver, did you do that? https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … de_setting

Sorry for the delay, I was figuring out how to make the changes permanent.
There was good progress, now I can log in. The catch, is that the resolution is incorrect, my monitor cannot display anything, and so I cannot change it. How can I change it without access to the session?

Tried to find the EDID binary for my display and enforce it by doing what was instructed in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel … s_and_EDID
However, that did not seem to do much, although I might be doing it wrong.

Alright, I made something work, just had to bash my head against the screen a bunch of times.
I re-enabled kscreen, rebooted into X11, got an invalid resolution, navigated using the keyboard in the dark to change to 1920x1080p from the system settings (I memorized the keypresses), then I logged out and dropped into wayland and voilà! Fixed the resolution.
not the cleanest solution. But, I am tired.
