Midi device not showing up in patchbay

Hello,
I have a midi device. It is not showing up under the patchbay or under "aconnect -i"
It does show up under "cat /proc/asound/cards"
also under "amidi -l"

i want this device to show up under the patchbay (in helvum for example). I think something is wrong but i don't know where.
