I am encountering a weird problem: my laptop can connect to external monitors though type-c cables but not type-c to HDMI adapters. In both case, xrandr gives the same output

DP-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)I have been searching for solutions for quite a while. Some suggests set the output/changing resolution through xrandr directly, so I tried setting the resolution to some lower value supported, and the command ran successfully, but still, nothing is displaying on the monitor. Others suggests setting the dGPU as the primary one for output, but my laptop is a Chromebook Pixel 2015 with Intel i7-5500U CPU and no dGPU.
