[Solved] How to make a iso file for my distro

Hello everyone
I am CodeCraft  and I have created my distro using arch
Now I want to publish this distro on the internet but I can not find any tool that will make my current installation of the arch into a distro
Another question how can I make my KDE and latte setting to be default so if I create a new user account all the settings will apply

Thanks
Regards Codecraft

But please bear in mind that anyone who chooses to install your 'distro' won't be able to use these forums for support.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Re: [Solved] How to make a iso file for my distro

Anyone who installs using your ISO won't be able to get support on these forums and you should tell people that. It doesn't matter how much or how little you tweak the system.

If you want people to install Arch and be able to recreate the look you've got, you should tell them to install Arch following the official installation guide and then follow a guide you provide to create that look. I wouldn't recommend anybody follow such a guide and I wouldn't encourage anybody to write one, but people could then ask for help here because they'd have used the official ISO for installation.

The best option would be to figure out what would need to be in the wiki for somebody to implement the various customisations you've used.

The wiki Slithery linked wrote:

Archiso is a highly-customizable tool for building Arch Linux live CD/USB ISO images. The official images are built with Archiso. It can be used as the basis for rescue systems, linux installers or other systems.

I can not find any tool that will make my current installation of the arch into a distro

You mean a tool that distributes your password AND YOUR BROWSER HISTORY?
You can just link your favorite porn sites here for… errr… research purposes.

Now I want to publish this distro on the internet but…

… does the public want you to?
Given that you spent less than 3 minutes to read a relevant wiki before drawing wrong conclusions?

If this is just like a theme for Mac lookalike, might as well just build a skeleton dotfiles instead, that's easier to keep track of and distribute.

I've seen a lot of topics like this over time, and the consensus could almost always be summarized by:

Don't.

IMHO there should be a sticky post that warns about not even thinking about asking here for help in creating one's own arch-based distro (or simply what @Slithery posted in #2), because that would be the first and last time to even qualify for official support...

EDIT: I'm not trying to hijack this thread and turn it into a discussion - Personally I would advice using approaches like skel mentioned above, as well.

Re: [Solved] How to make a iso file for my distro

To echo the last two posts: don't make a "distro" but in place of that there is a really nice way you can contribute to the community:

To build on that, I'd say make an AUR package to facilitate this configuration.  Then one need not install your "distro" and have a broken system that no one but you will support.  Instead, they'd install an arch linux system following the official documentation, and then they install your theme package on top of that.

This would also allow current archers to try out your theme package, benefit from the work you've done, and provide feedback / patches / etc.

That is an absolutely TERRIBLE recommendation. Don't do that.

You're missing the point.  We do worry about that as we (this community as a whole) are the ones who deal with the consequences of your actions.  You can chose to be a contributor to the project we all share, or a parasite upon it.  Telling us not to worry if / when you consider the latter is rather odd to say the least.
