[Solved] Cannot enter Grub

Hi everyone, I have a dual boot with Windows and Arch.
After I installed a Grub theme, it became black screen and entered BIOS automatically.
I can't enter my Arch now, what should I do?
Thanks a lot.

Re: [Solved] Cannot enter Grub

Boot from a live USB, chroot into your system, and then undo whatever you did to install the theme.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Re: [Solved] Cannot enter Grub

Likely if you are up to date recently, you got a new Grub package and missed the messages on the terminal where the -Syu was happening - as there were messages that you may need to run grub-install ... and grub-mkconfirg ... with the parameters for your config.

When you did the grub-mkconfig for the theme change, your grub config is likely newer than the bootloader due to the missed grub-install command.

See the Arch Announcement at https://archlinux.org/news/grub-bootloa … ibilities/

Review other recent Grub problems posted here so you understand the problem space and solutions.

When in the chroot, also recommend to review your pacman.log to see what versions of grub you had and what they were replaced with.
