Hi,
I'm using 2 monitors and testing different arch versions (arch, arco, EOS...) with i3wm but always using the same i3.conf file.
Unfortunately, my monitors change from HDMI-1 and HDMI-2 to HDMI1 and HDMI2 depending on distro in use.
How to fix it to HDMI-1 HDMI-2 or HDMI1 HDMI2 ?
Thanks for precious help.

depending on distro in use
It's more depending on whether you use the modesetting or other (intel, adgpu, radeon, …) driver and I'm not aware of ways to force any driver to use a specific pattern.
But using the same driver across distros should™ result in the same output names.

Thanks for info.
I use the same Intel driver for each distro, but probably arch installs another version as arco or EOS !
Anyway, your idea could be a good approach.
Kind regards

probably arch installs another version as arco or EOS
Probably rather not.
Please post xorg logs from each distro.

Hope that's what is expected, once from arcolinux and second from archlinux.
It's not a major issue, just for understanding why that's happening.

Please use code tags, https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode
The xorg log would be https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
But the segments already show that you're using the modesetting driver on archlinux and the intel driver on arco
The difference is the xf86-video-intel package, it's typically not advisable to use it unless you face active problems w/ the modesetting driver.

Seth, thank You for your recommendations and possible solution. Yes, have to be careful during installation procedure. Thanks.
