Plasma KDE KRunner/Kickoff search extremely slow on first search

Hey all. I'm having an issue with KRunner and Kickoff (Application Launcher) search being quite slow.

The first time I open it and type anything in, the UI freezes for about 3-5 seconds before showing any results.
Subsequent searches are fast for a while afterwards, but then it comes back again. I've mostly experienced this with Kickoff as I don't use KRunner as much.

I've tried disabling several KRunner plugins, but it doesn't seem to help. Here's the list I now have enabled and still running into the issue:

• Activities

• Applications

• Bookmarks

• Browser History

• Browser Tabs

• Calculator

• Command Line

• Desktop Search

• System Settings

• Unit Converter

• Windows

Baloo search indexing is disabled system-wide.

Relevant software versions:

• linux 5.19.9-arch1-1

• krunner 5.98.0-1

• core plasma packages 5.25.5-1

Try disabling bookmarks and browser history.
