I want to play some games on my Thinkpad E-15, however I am experiencing poor performance due to what I perceive as CPU throttling. I successfully run the games with the laptop's dedicated GPU, and I can get very solid fps, however there is frequent stuttering when (I believe) the CPU is throttled by the system. Basically, I am fairly certain that the stuttering is not a failing of the GPU. Monitoring tools report that the CPU's temperature is never rises past 78 C. Also, the games that I want to play are relatively simple and their system requirements are far below the laptop's. How can I prevent aggressive throttling (if it is in fact what's happening here)?
I tried using the thermald package, but it is not supported on my platform.
The CPU is:
Core i7-10510U @1.8-4.9 ghz, 4 Cores (8 threads)
