ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

My arch partition lags and holds on boot. I'm pretty sure my nvidia package is broken because when I tried to modinfo it, it says:

 modinfo nvidia
modinfo: ERROR: Module nvidia not found

Do you know how I can fix this? I have nvidia installed already.

Re: ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

pacman -Qikk nvidia linux

Edit: did you maybe update the system but didn't reboot?

uname -a

I tried updating the system again, and then rebooting, but nothing really changed.
Thank you for your help, by the way. I'm not really sure what's wrong, to be honest.

The first thing thats wrong is you should be asking for support at the manjaro boards. This forum only supports Arch linux

Re: ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

The second thing is that you're booting an old kernel, likely because you forgot to mount the /boot partition or so.

Re: ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

I'm actually using arch. This is an old arch usb I found from a long time ago that I want to get set up again, I don't know why it says manjaro to be honest (I had an error recently where one of my mirrorlists was set to a manjaro one, it messed with my system)

I'm mounting my arch usb from a manjaro one but other than that I have no idea why it says manjaro, to be honest.

Oh dang, I forgot to mount my boot partition! Let me do that and try to update everything and see if that works!

So you're booting some manjaro system and then chroot into an arch system?
You're still running that manjaro kernel and you need a kernel module for the running kernel, no matter what else may be installed somewhere.

Re: ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

Oh, I didn't know that! I just kind of figured "ehh close enough it should still work." Learned something new, I'm just going to boot from my arch usb to try and fix this.

Re: ERROR: Module nvidia not found.

Here's the updated uname -a, except I'm chrooting into it using an arch partition:

 Linux bestdragon 5.19.10-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue, 20 Sep 2022 15:17:59 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm sorry for being such a dip, probably should have known that mounting from manjaro wouldn;t be as good as mounting from arch.

Here's something that can maybe help? This is one of the last entries of my journalctl (I'm pretty sure it's because my nvidia thing isn't working, but you guys know a lot more than me)

This is the error I get when I try and boot my partition. I discovered that my nvidia wasn't working due to this error, but it might just be caused by something else as well.

You're somehow using optimus manager? But this isn't about the nvidia GPU for pretty much sure.
