I have the permanent, reproducible issue, that Gnome's built-in screen recording only ever captures the first few frames of a screen cast.
As an example, I recorded a gnome-terminal session, in which I opened "top" and let it record for 20 seconds:

As you can see, you only see the first second or so and never see top open, much less its changing output.
Any help or hint debugging this would be greatly appreciated.
I am on X11 by the way.
PS: The screen capturing kinda works on Wayland, but the resolution is a mess there.

Standard suggestion here, is xf86-video-intel installed/used? If so try dropping it.

I noticed the same issue, but it went away after updating my system on Sept 25.
Not sure what package had the bug, but it seems to have been fixed.
This is on Intel gen12 (tigerlake) integrated graphics.
