[SOLVED] LibreOffice slow to start up and open documents

For a while now LibreOffice (fresh; currently 7.4.0-2) has been slow to start up (like, tens of seconds slow), with similar behavior for opening existing documents, even if LO is already running. The CPU and memory resources do not increase inordinately, and there's nothing in any logs that I can see. I'm not sure where to even look to find a cause at this point. Also, I haven't been able to find any recent reference to similar behavior in these forums or in the wider internets.
I believe LO has updated more than once since this behavior started (for such problems I often wait a couple of updates to see if the problem gets fixed, but not this time).
System:

Linux 5.19.5-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC x86_64 GNU/Linux

Any suggestions appreciated.

When you start LO from a terminal, does it echo anything in the terminal while you're waiting?

Try this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 4#p1934134. Since recent libreoffice updates the first document opened would always take around 50-60 seconds. Doing strace told me it was getting stuck on two 25-second eventfd2 call timeouts. I found the above thread linked while searching for problems with eventfd2, and the solution worked for me.

Thanks, it turns out I got a new machine before I solved this, and don't have the problem on the new one. I guess this is probably because I haven't installed the offending packages yet. I'll mark as solved assuming that was it.
