Core 2 Duo - frequency scaling [solved]

Hi, I'm running a Laptop with Core 2 Duo

Since I want to save power I'm trying to scale the frequency down.
I read the SpeedStep section in the wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SpeedStep)

But this just scales one cpu down. The second cpu ist working at 100 %.

Now I searched the forums and read about the cpufreq_ondemand module and that I should change /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq. The same for cpu1.

The problem is: Those files don't exist!

What is the reason for this? Is there maybe another way to change the frequency of the cpu?

Re: Core 2 Duo - frequency scaling [solved]

for using ondemand with my core duo, I need speedstep_centrino to be modprobed. then that /sys file will show up.

Thanks for help.

With the speedstep_centrino module frequency scaling is now possible.
