Epson ET-4500 Eco Drive Printer install

Right to the point: I can't get my printer to install and work properly.  I've tried other methods people had success with on this forum.  I've tried to download the drivers through Arch.   I've tried to download the drivers through the Epson website and install manually.  Although the printer seems to communicate with the CPU, it only prints gibberish.  Keep in mind, I've installed other distros (Fedora, Mint, Ubuntu) and had no issues whatsoever.  Why is Arch giving me such a difficult time?  Does anyone have any suggestions before I abandon Arch altogether?

Couple of months ago I had similar problems installing my Epson inkjet xp-2155 printer on my Arch linux. It appeared that I hadn't installed system-config-printer package that is not for some reason installed as default in Arch. After installing it, my printer started to work. So that's the first thing to check. I think it must be installed a printer to work. It will find in official repos. Of course I don't know if that is your problem but just check out that it's installed. I also installed epson-printer-utility from aur.  After that I installed drivers normally.

The printer supports AirPrint, that is what I use with another ET model. My setup uses the automatic discovery with avahi (you need to disable the zeroconf support in systemd-resolved if you use that), but it should also be possible to manually add the printer with ip and port.

For usb connections ipp-usb should work.
For the scanner you can install sane-airscan.
