[Solved] Getting Intel A380 to work alongside my AMD Vega 64

I just got the Intel Arc A380 and trying to get it to show up and initialize properly. My main card is the Vega 64 which drives displays. The A380 would only be used for hardware trans-coding for handbrake, ffmpeg and potentially Plex. Vega card functions with no issue and is visible. No monitors or anything else is connected to the A380. It doesn't look like the module is being loaded and card initialized. I have tried adding i915.force_probe=56a5 (https://www.phoronix.com/review/intel-a … hics-linux) and have the i915 as part of the modules in my modules in mkinitcpio.conf. based on what I can see, everything should be working as I'm not seeing anything that should prevent this. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure where to start here.

Updates

2022-09-29: Quick update. For the time being, this is partially solved. To get the card running (at least for basic video out) you would need the 6.0 kerne. Kernel should be coming soon.
For trans coding and other functionality, latest mesa needed as well along with updates to pretty much all of the related software. So for the time being, just going to hold off. Half of the Intel provided tools currently don't quite function. Not in a hurry as this was a purchase for a very specific build and can sit and wait for a few more kernel versions and updates.
2023-02-05: Tried the Mainline kernel from AUR + ffmpeg-full + latest handbrake. Everything seems to be working as expected.  Hopefully with the 6.2 release coming out in a month or so won't have to use the mainline.

The only error i have in dmesg related to the Intel card is:

Re: [Solved] Getting Intel A380 to work alongside my AMD Vega 64

Please post full outputs of lspci -k, dmesg and journal , also modules= line from /etc/mkinitcpio.conf .

What is brand & model of your motherboard and in which Pci express slots are the cards positioned ?

X or wayland ?
If x, post xorg log.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: [Solved] Getting Intel A380 to work alongside my AMD Vega 64

Got the card to show up and initilize.

Minimum kernel version: 6.0

Now working on getting hardware transcoding to work along with intel-gpu-tools. Need to recompile ffmoeg and a few other things. Will post an update once I have that.

As for the card, it's an AsRock A380. Also had a spelling error in force_probe...

Hi, would you mind executing "lspci -vs 07:00" and see if SR-IOV is listed? Thanks in advance.
