[SOLVED] GDM crashes upon recent glib-related upgrades

Hi all,

A recent-ish update broke my GDM installation. Upon boot, it flashes for probably half a second, and then crashes to a black screen containing only the _ character.

After some pain, I've narrowed the problematic upgrade down to one or more of the following:

glib-networking 1:2.72.2-1 -> 1:2.74.0-1
glib2 2.72.3-3 -> 2.74.0-2
glibmm 2.66.4-1 -> 2.66.5-1
gobject-introspection-runtime 1.72.0-1 -> 1.74.0-1
lib32-glib2 2.72.3-1 -> 2.74.0-2
libgee 0.20.5-2 -> 0.20.6-1

This issue was consistent even upon rolling back (via timeshift) and reupgrading several times. I do have KDE Plasma installed alongside GNOME which has caused an issue in the past, but this upgrade is still buggy after uninstalling plasma-meta.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this issue, and if anyone has any advice in further diagnosing it to file a bug report. I do have the journalctl -b output of a failed boot containing a considerable number of gnome-session core dumps, but don't quite know what to look for.

Hmm, I tried updating again today and still encountered this issue. Going to dive deeper into the logs...

This was in fact caused by me patching GTK and forgetting about it.
