[SOLVED]VirtualBox WARNING: The vboxdrv kernel module is not loaded.

After today's update my virtualbox won't run because the kernel module is not loaded.

Since everything has been working I suspect the update.

There was no kernel update but there was this virtualbox upgrade

upgraded virtualbox-host-modules-arch (6.1.38-8 -> 6.1.38-9)

I tried downgrading that package to 38.8, but it did not fix.

Re: [SOLVED]VirtualBox WARNING: The vboxdrv kernel module is not loaded.

virtualbox-host-modules-arch 6.1.38-9 was the rebuild for linux 5.19.13.arch1-1.  Did your system's mirror become de-synchronized?  So it updated packages in community but not core.
What is the current linux package version and the output of `uname -a`?  After you downgraded virtualbox-host-modules-arch did you reboot and or try manually loading the modules?

Ah yes. I had downgraded linux a short while ago and must have accepted the default action to put linux on ignore.

I fixed that, upgraded linux and the vbox piece and all is well.

Thank you.
