PKCS Card and encrypted root

I have a lvm-on-luks encrypted root partition, and have been trying to add a PKCS11 card for decryption, as mentioned in This blog post

Is it at all possible to keep using the

encrypt

hook for this? All my googling has led me to using

encrypt-sd

and the crypttab file.

If anyone has experience in a setup like this, stories and relevant links would be appreciated
