Im running kde plasma with an rx 6900xt and amdgpu drivers. When I plug in my secondary monitor (1080p 60hz) running through a hdmi to dvi adapter my main monitor (1440p 144hz) slows down to a crawl and feels as if its running at 30 fps. This also causes massive stuttering and frame rate issues in games not present when the 2nd monitor is disconnected. I also stack the monitors vertically which does cause some weirdness when opening windows but I doubt its connected. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks for the reply but it does not change the actual refresh rate of the monitors as i found though xrandr, it just makes them run like crap and stutter.

Neither did actually for the OP of that thread.
The situation affected multiple people, I'm pretty sure that you fall into this and the gist is to install the appropriate xf86-video-* driver as workaround.

Please check whether this actually is your problem and in case always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
