Hi guys, updating from gnome 38 to gnome 40-41 and now to gnome 42 breaks many things related to the themes. Indeed if I set a dark or white appearance in the gnome-control-settings it works only for some applications like nautilus but not for the terminal. This is a lot frustrating because if I'm work it the night and I setup a dark theme, it's probably that many apps open with a light theme that hurt my eyes and vice versa if I work in the day some apps open with a dark theme.
Is there a way to fix this ? I think that this bad behavior is related to the old themes/settings so I want to reset my gnome-shell and themes configuration and make the appearance setting work for all apps.
Anyone of all you know how to fix this ?

GNOME Control Center only changes the theme for Libadwaita applications, not Legacy (Gtk 3) applications. You'll need to use a compatible theme like Adwaita or adw-gtk3. It can be set using GNOME Tweaks. You can use the Legacy (GTK3) Theme Scheme Auto Switcher GNOME Shell Extension to have both the Libadwaita & Legacy themes switch at the same time.
