[Solved] Creating New Calendar Event Crashes Akonadi

Akonadi will consistently crash when attempting to save a newly-created Calendar event.   This occurs using both the Calendar application within Kontact and when using Kalendar.

The crash on Kalendar returns this:

 terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Akonadi::PayloadException'
  what():  Akonadi::PayloadException: No payload set
Aborted (core dumped)

KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0
Qt Version: 5.15.6
Akonadi Version: 22.08.1-2

I just upgraded to Frameworks 5.99.0 this morning, so one of those packages may be contributing to this, although I am unsure which it may be.

Is anyone able to replicate this?

Re: [Solved] Creating New Calendar Event Crashes Akonadi

There's a bug in the current ical version: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/76165  https://github.com/libical/libical/issues/610

Maybe try downgrading that.

Excellent!   Downgrading libical fixed the issue.

Thanks!
