[SOLVED] KDE's 'Night Color' gets stuck at 'Locating...' after upgrad.

Hi,
Not long ago the Night Color feature in Plasma was geolocating successfully. After upgrading to 5.26.0 it still seems to work (maybe due to the old configuration file?) but when selecting 'Switching times: Sunset and sunrise at current location' it gets stuck indefinitely at 'Locating...' which is very annoying. When opening the settings from the terminal this shows up:

kf.coreaddons: "Could not load plugin from /usr/lib/qt/plugins/plasma/geolocationprovider/plasma-geolocation-gps.so: Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/plugins/plasma/geolocationprovider/plasma-geolocation-gps.so: (libgps.so.29: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
Failed to load GeolocationProvider: "/usr/lib/qt/plugins/plasma/geolocationprovider/plasma-geolocation-gps.so" "Could not load plugin from /usr/lib/qt/plugins/plasma/geolocationprovider/plasma-geolocation-gps.so: Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/plugins/plasma/geolocationprovider/plasma-geolocation-gps.so: (libgps.so.29: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
"location"
file:///usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_nightcolor/contents/ui/main.qml:293:13: QML Label: Binding loop detected for property "verticalAlignment"
file:///usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_nightcolor/contents/ui/main.qml:91:9: QML FormLayout (parent or ancestor of QQuickLayoutAttached): Binding loop detected for property "preferredHeight"
QLayout::removeWidget: Cannot remove a null widget.

The library mentioned above exists on the system, however (I think??).
I thought that some file might be missing after installing the new version. Installing the package plasma-nm does not make any difference though, and I before I didn't have it installed and it worked anyway.

What gives?

Thank you.

Do you have 'gpsd' installed?

Plasma uses NetworkManager to determine your location. Is NetworkManager enabled?

No, I have never had the packages gpsd nor networkmanager installed (at least I am fairly sure that is the case!). I installed plasma-nm which installed NetworkManager as well. After enabling NetworkManager as a service the stuck 'Locating...' bar suddenly turned into the proper location! Thanks a lot for both your tips (for pointing out what component is required for KDE's geolocation). The only strange thing is that this system has been running a virtually vanilla setup of KDE for 3 years and the geolocation was working before (ever since the Night Color feature was introduced).
