It is very annoying to experience since I have to restart the laptop every time it happens. Usually around 2-4 times a week.
When the system freezes:
System does not respond to any keys or mouse actions (not only visually but practically too).
The only way out is to hold power button until the system shutdowns forcefully.
When it happens I also have a weird sound in headphones (some electronic sound).
It happens randomly.

Faulty hardware maybe?
I had similar issue in previous desktop PC (GPU has fallen off the bus) - when my GPU had to much dust, PC started getting stuck until I cleaned it (maybe it was overheat/fan stuck?). when it got really bad even boot was stuck.
Display was fully stuck (but computer itself was not, as I could connect via ssh), and even "poweroff" took several minutes until it gave up waiting.
if you can, try to clean (vacuum?) the dust from the computer. It may be other hardware issue that sometimes triggered.

Alright, I will try to clean it up and see if I get this in the future.

It still freezes even though there's no dust and everything is connected fine

Can you ssh into the laptop?
Please post a complete journal and Xorg log which include the problem.
Which drivers are you using for nvidia? Does it make a difference if you use different drivers (if that's an option)?

Let's also look at lower level stuff.

No, I can't change to another tty and I haven't tried to SSH into my laptop since this is the only computer I've got

I have partially solved it by switching my nvidia prime to use intel build-in graphics (
$ nvidia-prime-select intel). After doing so my system stopped freezing, and my GPU just fine in applications that require it (Games, Blender).
However, I still experience issues related to this topic. In the original post I mentioned the weird sound out of headphones when the system freezes, I recorded a sample of it. Now when I use Intel this sound players all the time which is annoying, it becomes much less noticeable when there's even quietest sound playing (I simply use whitenoise sound so that I don't lose my mind). This noise only affects headphones, speakers are fine; and the journal doesn't print any obvious reasons what could be wrong, perhaps my hardware?
