hi
i'm new to arch and after following the wiki and installing i've encountered a problem. after installing any nvidia package and rebooting, the system after ~5 seconds shortly freezes on the SDDM login screen entirely (and i can't even access the tty) forcing me to reboot and chroot to remove the nvidia proprietary driver.
i have tested both the intel and the nouveau driver and they work, so i'm guessing the problem probably is related to the proprietary driver (btw i have already tried using the kernel parameters nvidia_drm.modeset=1 and ibt=off).
if thats relevant i'm using the kernel 6.0.2-arch1-1 and Plasma 5.26.1
my specs are: Intel i5-3340 , NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti , 12 GiB of ram and two displays, the first: Asus VS248 1920x1080 on DVI-D and the second: LG 20EN33 1600x900 VGA using a DisplayPort adapter to connect to the gpu.

Install linux-lts and nvidia-lts and post a system journal and xorg log for a boot w/ the 6.0.2 kernel
sudo journalctl -b -1 | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st # for the previous bootOffline
sorry for the late reply
heres the journal: https://0x0.st/oxAL.txt
and the xorg log: https://0x0.st/oxAv.txt
booting with the 6.0.2 just gives a black screen but thanks to the link you sent from archwiki i can blindly reboot using a virtual console (killing x apparently does nothing), and using the lts kernel the problem still persists.

Weak PSU?
Did you forget to attach the 6/8-pin dedicated power supply?
Offline
Well i'm using the same PSU which i bought along side the GPU (in this case a EVGA 430 W ) in 2017.
the GPU itself doesn't have any connector (draws power directly from the pci); so either some hardware is dying or some cable is misconnected.
i will check all the cables and try again.
Offline
i'm back and well, turns out that the problem was indeed the PSU cable.
the motherboard cable (20 + 4 pin) somehow was poorly connected, so i properly connected this time and tried the lts kernel and driver, and it worked!
so i tried again with the nvidia and the 6.0.2 kernel and worked aswell.
TL:DR the PSU cable was poorly connect and i was dumb enough to not even notice, thanks for the help!
