[Solved] Wayland and fcitx5
I followed the instructions on the Fcitx5 Installation guide but I can't get fcitx5 activated.
I suppose Wayland (running KDE Plasma on wayland) to be part of the problem because on an X11-based installation fcitx5 works.
Any ideas about this anybody?

I had to declare the fcitx5-environment variables like described here: Wayland environment.
Now fcitx5 works for me using wayland.
