error: prohibited by secure boot policy

I just upgraded my system and got the following error (msi z790) when trying to boot

error: prohibited by secure boot policy
enter entering rescue mode
grub rescue>

I didn't have issues earlier (AM4 system).

I managed to boot into one of my old linux drive by enabling CSM but that isn't exactly ideas (due to losing rebar support).

Re: error: prohibited by secure boot policy

What got upgraded exactly (/var/log/pacman.log)?

Do you get more information if you boot with secure boot disabled?

I upgraded the hardware. I didn't upgrade anything via pacman.

It might be the motherboard causing issues for me. I now need to switch to "CSM" to boot at all (the newer installation will then not boot properly).

Edit: finally found how to disable secure boot. That solved the issue.
